I seem unable to get the proper video resolutions.
This is a link to my hardware settings: http://support.gateway.com/s/Mobile/Q106/BladeK8F/1013912Rsp2.shtml
My video card:
ATI RS485M
ATI Radeon® Xpress 1150 Graphics with
up to 128 MB of Shared Video Memory
To see what Ubuntu sees: System ==> Preferences ==> Hardware Information
==> RS480 PCI Bridge ==> RS485 [Radeon Xpress 1100 IGP]
See the correct card but doesn't sam RS485M
This is a link to a wiki for the proprietary drivers for ATI: http://wiki.cchtml.com/index.php/Main_Page
I am having trouble figuring this out.
RS480 is the PCI number.
Search on "Radeon Xpress 1100 IGP"
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=542338
Found this page which refers to the chip as a Radeon Xpress 200M: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_ATI_chipset
The chip doesn't seem to currently support DRI (Direct Rendering Infrastructure)
Do I have to disable it when using fglrx?
Goggle has a Linux search: http://www.google.com/linux
Here is the Ubuntu install instruction for the ATI drivers: http://wiki.cchtml.com/index.php/Ubuntu
fglrx is already installed.
stan@stan-laptop:~$ fglrxinfo
display: :0.0 screen: 0
OpenGL vendor string: ATI Technologies Inc.
OpenGL renderer string: ATI Radeon Xpress Series
OpenGL version string: 2.0.6473 (8.37.6)
